Some of the places to visit are; Los Azufres, Laguna Larga, Pucuato, Sabaneta, Mata de Pinos and Tziranda Cave, among others. It also has one of the must precious natural attractions in Michoacan, the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuaries, which are a symbol and pride of the people from Michoacan (and Mexico). The sanctuary can be visited every year from November to March. It also offers the opportunity to visit important cities of the independence period in Mexico as Zitacuaro and mining towns Angangueo and Tlalpujahua.
