Located just a quick 20 min. ferry-boat ride off the coast of Cancun, Isla Mujeres offers travelers a unique getaway from the big hotels and nightclubs. Isla Mujeres has a small central village with shops, restaurants and bars in a laid back setting that is geared towards foot traffic, bicycles and scooters.
The north end of the island is known for it's wide beaches and calm waters, perfect for wading or relaxing, and it's safe for children. There is also excellent scuba diving around the island, with professional dive services on hand.
Numerous small hotels and boutique suites provide for a variety in lodgings, and while the island is fairly small, it is easy to get around with plenty to explore and do while you are there. It is very popular with European travelers year-round.
