The Language Immersion School
On the Ocean in Veracruz, Mexico

Voladores Flying from a Tall Pole in Veracruz Our Number One Goal Is Getting You Speaking Spanish--carrying on conversations in Spanish.

In Veracruz starting to speak Spanish happens almost automatically.

Our Instruction
  • Non-Traditional, we have highly active, relaxed, friendly, and flexible class settings.
  • Very-Small-Group-Size, the maximum class size is two students per teacher and most often instruction is one-on-one.
  • Dual Language, teachers explain new material and new vocabulary in English and then go right back into Spanish to put it to work. (To us it doesnt make sense to try to explain new material to you using a language you dont yet know and cant understand).
  • Spanish in Context, we have you out and about the city every day participating and having fun with the warm and friendly people of Veracruz. When youre actively involved with wonderful people, you talk. Since they speak Spanish, so will you!

Housing While You're at School
  • Our Housing--Living-In, The school is housed in a large, traditional, old and gracious Mexican home. It's only half a block from the ocean's edge. You'll stay in a spacious private room with private bath. Coffee is waiting for you as early as six in the morning, and you're welcome to begin breakfast as early as seven. At noon is "La Comida," the large meal of the day, and we all sit around in the dining area practicing Spanish.

Spanish Language Immersion School in Veracruz Staff is available to practice Spanish with you from seven in the morning (when many have their first cup of coffee) until nine at night. Spanish is always alive, and so is your chance to be participate in the culture.

  • Hotel-Stays, We choose not to use hotel-stays because there's little Spanish practice and almost no cultural involvement. Immersion is much more than just class hours. Housing is an important dimension in immersion.

  • Home-Stays, Although wonderful in theory, far more often than not home-stays are moderately to sadly disappointing. The school uses living-in so that you get the benefits of home-stays while avoiding the downside.

Location, Location, Location
  • Our highly successful approach is made even all the stronger by Veracruz itself. The school is located in the middle of everything. It’s so easy to get anywhere. The beach, the malecon, shops and restaurants, an incredible mix of places are within a few blocks, within a few minutes.

  • Malecon, Ocean, and the Boulevard Ready for the Carnaval Parade
  • Ten minutes walking along the water’s edge and you’re on the main part of the malecon. .

  • Five more minutes have you at the zocalo with the cathedral, the municipal palace, outdoor restaurants, and music and dancing .
