Oaxaca Spanish Magic is a Spanish language school in Oaxaca where you will discover the magic and the joy of
learning Spanish. For the last fifteen years, the founder and director of Oaxaca Spanish Magic, L.A.E.T. Flor
Irene Bautista Carreño, has successfully taught students of all ages, starting from their specific levels of
Spanish competency and taking them to the proficiency they want. In addition, Flor has coordinated and developed
Spanish language programs for other institutes, where she has also been responsible for teacher selection and
evaluation.
She is not only the founder and the director of the school but also a teacher because as she says, "it is a
pleasure to teach Spanish and I feel enormous satisfaction when I hear my students put what they learn into
practice." Students enjoy their classes passing through the levels of basic, intermediate and advanced.
The classes cover grammar, conversation, exercises and homework. The topics covered include
Spanish and Mexican culture, costumes, and both Mexican and Oaxacan traditions. The teachers enjoy teaching and
seeing their students learn to write and speak Spanish. The director, the teachers and the employees together
make a team and offer quality learning in a professional atmosphere that is also friendly and fun. They offer
many things that make the school different and work well. Oaxaca Spanish Magic has a good library of visual and
written learning material.
During the week or the weekends, the director or the teachers go with the students to different places with
everyone paying their own expenses. The school is in a very good location: 2 minutes from the church of Santo
Domingo, 2 minutes from the Botanical Garden, 2 minutes from the Santo Domingo Cultural Center, 8 minutes from the
Zócalo, and 5 to 15 minutes from various museums.
