Solipaso is named after a special place on Alamos mountain that we have enjoyed going to over the years. We named our business after this orchid and ficus filled canyon because it represents so much of what we love about this region...it is wild, undiscovered, beautiful, serene and off-the-beaten-path.

It is often said that Alamos is one of Mexico's best kept secrets. Tucked away in the foothills of the Sierra Madre, this colonial town has recently be deemed a National Historic Monument of Mexico, as you arrive in town it is soon evident why.

The architecture is primarily in the Spanish colonial style, the narrow streets are cobble stoned and the side walks are high. There is evidence all around of some of the traditional handiwork - wrought iron, colonial stylized signs, rock walls and beautiful woodwork. Many say that as they arrive in Alamos, they feel as though they are stepping back in time. And, in a way, they are. Alamos has a long and rich history which permeates the town and it's residents to this day.

Having established a network of contacts during our years of residence in Alamos, we have created an array of informative excursions that give the visitors to southern Sonora the opportunity to experience the rich cultural and natural beauty of the region. Along with the excursions, Solipaso offers accommodations, meals, information and other tourist services. In all that we do, we are committed to providing services of the highest quality.

We also offer multi-day tours and packages within Sonora, and Mexico emphasizing both natural and human history, and birding.
