A great spot to host a yoga retreat, art class or special event.

Baja horse ranch

Our 350 acre ranch has varied terrain, wide arroyos and canyons filled with towering Palo Chino and ancient Cardon and Pitaya cactus as well as many other species of flora and fauna. The horses reside in large, shady corrals when they aren't grazing the ranch. We offer overnight stays in a casita with breakfast included.

Activities include:
  • Horseback riding
  • Wine tasting
  • Ranch tours
  • Hiking
  • Birding
  • Sauna
  • Swimming
  • Art Gallery
  • Special event area
The grounds include chicken coop, vegetable gardens, orchards and vineyard...all organic, as well as the original ranch house ruins from the 1800's and a stone wine cave.

Bob crafts wine from grape, mango, plum and honey (from the ranch bee hives).

Relax at the spring-fed granite pool, sauna and palapa in a beautiful natural setting. Birds and wildlife abound. It's the perfect location for your special class, retreat or other event.

Rancho La Venta has been in existence since sometime in the late 1700's. The name translates to roadhouse or country inn, a place for early travelers between the missions of La Paz and Santiago. The rich history and many artifacts unearthed here suggest it was a hub for access to the Sierra de San Antonio, the mountain range that is the backbone of Baja Sur, running from Los Cabos north to the Sierra de Laguna.

Like many early ranch settings, La Venta is an oasis of springs and open surface water. Large Palo Chino trees line the arroyos of the area and at 2000 ft. you will find Encino or Oak trees which get more prevalent with a rise in elevation. Abundant wildlife is a common sight on trail rides and hikes. Birding at the cusp of the foothills is considered world class by many experts who have visited the ranch.
