Hotel La Quinta Luna

SACRED CITY OF CHOLULA

La Quinta Luna is situated in the oldest living city of the American Continent, Cholula, in the outskirts of Puebla, approximately 70 miles east from Mexico City. The hotel is located in the quarter of Santa María Xixitla, which is part of the city of Cholula since the prehispanic period. La Quinta Luna was found in a seventeenth century mansion, which was completely restored in 1996-1998 by the Cárdenas González de Cossío family, who still lives in it and manages the hotel.

The house is a catalogued historic building which fully preserves its original structure. During colonial times, the house probably hosted Don Juan de León y Mendoza, a descendent of the Prehispanic indigenous nobility and one of the most important chiefs of the earlier eighteenth century. Today, there is an exquisite contrast between classical colonial arquitecture which is represented by the building, and contemporary Mexican art which dresses its walls with colour and form. La Quinta Luna Hotel is truly one of the finest and most unique hotels that Puebla, or any part of Mexico, has to offer.

La Quinta Luna

Within La Quinta Luna there is a library, which was wholly built with old wooden beams of the seventeenth century that were saved whilst restoring the house. It contains approximately 3000 books including a wide collection of design, economic history books, books on Mexican artists, books with photographs of Colonial and Prehispanic Mexico, and Spanish and English language literature. The guests may have access to the library and borrow books during their stay. La Quinta Luna also offers you the following ammenities in each of its seven unique, luxurious rooms:

• TV • DVD • Internet • Hairdryer • Bath robe • Slippers • Minibar • Coffee service • Safety box •

The lobby and the restaurant are placed where the Old Chapel was originally situated. Besides presenting the most outstanding art pieces, there is a carved stone of colonial origin and the most antique and original wooden HCA logo ceiling, on which the date 19th of April, 1736 is inscribed on a beam. The hotel offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, mainly for the guests of the hotel. The menu offers Mexican dishes, from traditional to nouvelle recipes with traditional ingredients. It also includes international cuisine dishes. Meals may be served in the restaurant, the patio or in your room. We await your visit at La Quinta Luna
