Oaxaca Ollin Bed & Breakfast

If you are looking for a centrally located bed and breakfast in Oaxaca, you have found it in Ollin. We have given our Bed and Breakfast the name Ollin (O-leen). The word in náhuatl means movement of the heavens or celestial sky. Ollin refers to a location that is mystical or magical, and you can find its symbol in the very center of the Aztec calendar. Your hosts at Ollin are Judith Reyes Lopez, whose family has lived in Oaxaca since before the arrival of Cortez, and her husband Jon McKinley, officially from San Diego, California but now a resident of Oaxaca.

Ollin was designed and constructed in 1961 by well known architect Enrique Esesarte. At the time of its construction Ollin was one of the most luxurious casas in Oaxaca. The casa now contains 10 lovely rooms, each with its private bath. Three rooms have terraces with a view of the pool, four rooms are on the other side of the swimming pool (as seen in the photo) and share a private patio. Each room is distinct and individually decorated including extensive use of antique tile. All rooms have access to the rooftop terrace with a view of Santo Domingo. We now give you the opportunity to experience Oaxaca at it's finest.

Start off your mornings off with a breakfast—Oaxaca style. Sophie, our cook for many years will fix you a regional hot breakfast, if you so desire. If you prefer a light meal you will have a choice between fresh fruits, juices, breads, and, of course, coffee, tea, or the local favorite, Mexican Hot Chocolate. You may choose to eat in the dining room, on the covered patio by the pool, or on the tranquil garden patio. Our staff is friendly, helpful and committed to making your stay enjoyable in all respects.

Once you have experienced Ollin we are sure that you will, like many of our guests, return again and again to savor all that Oaxaca has to offer.
