
Since Hackl and Pan y Co. Bakeries first opened their doors in 1992 we have dedicated ourselves to bringing you the highest
quality in original bread and pastries from Europe. Traditional French bread recipes and Viennese gourmet pastry
recipes are the first step in the preparation of bread, cakes, pastries and seasonal delights, made
with Old World care in our wood ovens.
To assure the authenticity and the quality of our European bread, they are cooked naturally in a refractory wood
oven. The design of our oven has its basis in the Roman refractory ovens. You could say that our oven is the same as
has been used for over 2000 years. Conduction, Radiation and Ventilation are the keys to the perfect bread - and
our wood burning ovens have all three.
All of these three processes occur at the same time in our ovens, giving our rustic breads a perfect crust and
flavor. A crunchy crust with a tender middle and a perfect, golden color. Some examples of our rustic breads are
baguettes, beer and sunflower seeds, roquefort cheese and pecan, prune and hazelnut, white chocolate and cashew,
multigrain, German brown bread, Lanbrot, champagne bread, soft bretzels, potato bread with garlic and herbs, among
others.
Here at Hackl and Pan & Co. Bakeries, we also offer you dozens of sweet items to choose from. Our cinnamon rolls
are a favorite, and they have nuts and cranberries. Pain au Chocolate,Vanilla Cream Danish with peaches,
Croissant natural, brioche with cranberries and nuts, Guglhupf - royal Austrian bread, and bread with chocolate
and cherries; tartlettes, muffins, panques, quiches, cakes, and so much more. Is your mouth watering yet?
At the mother ship, the original Hackl Bakery, located in the Plazuelo de los Sapos area of downtown Puebla, Mexico,
we take fine dining to a new high in our Bouchon Restaurant. Years of experience on the part of Chef Christian
Hackl have culminated in luscious dishes such as Duck Confit in mustard sauce, Shrimp with tamarind and ginger
sauce, Trout with chile ancho and cranberries, appetizers such as game hen brochetta with bacon and european
bread, salads, panini, and desserts to die for.
At Hackl Bakery in Puebla, we offer courses and classes on bread and pastry making. Our many happy students can
attest to the knowledge they gained, not to mention the fun of baking in the wood oven. On our website you can
