San Miguel de Allende hacienda

HACIENDA LAS TRANCAS
Authentic & Romantic 450 Year-Old Hacienda For Rent

This huge, old ex-hacienda midway between San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, is situated outside Dolores Hidalgo in a small and safe friendly village. This was Padre Hidalgo's parish, and there is a room in the hacienda where he used to stay when visiting. First established as a presidio, or fort, along the silver trail in 1567, it later became a hacienda in the 1700's.

Having meter-thick adobe walls, Hacienda Las Trancas exhibits a beautiful and rustic elegance. The furnishings consist of colonial antiques and local artisan pieces. It is also private, with 20 full-time staff, including guest service office, cooks, maids, stable personnel, maintenance and gardeners. Luxurious bedding with high thread-count linens and feather beds, plus down duvets. There are eleven beautiful suites, some with views of the Sierra Madres, or private terraces, each with high-speed internet, satellite t.v., fireplace, and private bath. The hacienda consists of approximately 50 rooms, with 40,000 sq. ft. under roof. There are ten walled-in private acres. The hacienda has a pool heated with a dozen solar panels to assure year-round comfort, jacuzzi, 16 piece Cybex Gym, gardens and enormous porches. There is an on-site spa offering full body massages, hot stone massages, reflexology, and facials, all very reasonably priced.

Poncho Villa slept here, Padre Hidalgo slept here, now you can too! Step out your door and onto the silver trail. This is an ideal location for visiting a different colonial town each day, or simply enjoying the best of Mexico's Bajio region. Shop for beautiful talavera pottery in Dolores Hidalgo, shop for EVERYTHING in San Miguel, while you enjoy gourmet restaurants, hot springs, and golf. Wander the charming streets and cobbled alleys of Guanajuato. Chauffeur available for reasonable fee, also very knowledgeable bilingual guide for trail rides (horse, car, or mountain bike,) and seeing historic silver trail locations that most tourists NEVER see.
