El Sueño Hotel & Spa is located in the historical center of the City of Puebla de los Ángeles. It is
located in a massive 18C house remodeled with the purpose of preserving the typical baroque characteristic
of the period. Remodeling created a perfect balance combining the building´s original style with contemporary
elements and minimalist decor, in which the use of wood, aluminum and
crystal resulted in eclectic and unique spaces. These spaces create a simple and cozy atmosphere, always
guarded by the towers of the Angelopolitana Cathedral.
The big house (casona) was always used as a residence. Later, during the 19C it was divided down the middle as a
result of an inheritance. The left part was turned into a school. The area used today by the hotel was
transformed into a gated neighborhood. The casona remained this way until 1995 when the earthquake in Puebla left
it in poor condition. It was abandoned until 2002 when it was transformed into what today is El Sueño Hotel & Spa,
which preserves the original pool and wooden beams permeated with so many dreams and mysticism.

El Sueño Hotel & Spa is a dream come true in the old XVIII-century casona that occupies
Alcántaras fertile region. It is said that if we pay attention to the ringing of bells inviting neighbors to mass
at eight, we can get to know the legend the old casona embodies. "Unforgettable dreams and good fortune for
those sleeping in the house," were the strong wishes of Archangel San Miguel, who, after the arduous task of
directing the city layout, lay down for a rest under an old willow that grew up in the land of what today is
the casona.
After his short nap, 11 feathers fell from his wings and when they reached land, 11 trees came
up from the soil, which later produced the beams which would support the roof of the casona.
When the house was complete, in the middle of the patio, in a stone pool one could see crystallized
the dreams of those who reflected on it. Realized dreams, love stories and good fortune were just some of the
