CHILENO BAY IN LOS CABOS RECEIVES
MEXICO'S 2008 CLEAN BEACH CERTIFICATION
The highly coveted and prestigious Clean Beach certification for 2008 was awarded to Los Cabos' own Chileno Bay.
Among those celebrating the honor and attending the April 8th flag raising ceremony were Governor Narciso Agúndez Montaño, Mayor Luis Armando Díaz and Municipal Coordinator of ZOFEMAT Javier Ontiveros Fabián, whose agency is directly responsible for the upkeep of Chileno Bay. The Mayor noted that it was not an easy task to obtain the certifcation, as the beaches of Los Cabos competed with the beaches throughout Mexico in the Yucatan, the Mayan Riviera, Tamaulipas, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Campeche and Colima.
