Panoramic view of Guachochi
|
Guachochi is one of the largest communities of the Sierra Tarahumara, with approximately 30,000 inhabitants. It has good restaurants and comfortable, rustic lodging. The principal attractions of this region are its natural scenary; outstanding is the opposing Sinforosa Canyon, one of the deepest at 1,830 meters (6,040 feet). There are two highways leading to Guachochi, either one will take you about three hours. Another means to get to Guachochi is by small airplane, since the town does have an airstrip.
