Casita de las Flores is San Miguel de Allende's lovely B&K (Bed & Kitchen), an affordable alternative to expensive hotels and B&B's. The Casita is a charming little guest house located in the Colonia Allende, a typical Mexican residential neighborhood, just a 20-minute stroll from the historic centro, and a 10-minute walk from the Instituto Allende.

Nestled at the end of a privada, or private walkway, the Casita is a tranquil place, full of plants, flowers, butterflies, and sun. The Casita is a great place to meet people with similar interests, to practice Spanish, to write, paint or draw, to do yoga, or just to escape first-world stress and unwind.

The Casita offers:
• Five good-sized private rooms with large doors and windows opening onto the
   patio
• Two full, shared baths (cleaned daily; hot water 24/7)
• A complete kitchen at our guests’ disposal (plates, silverware, pots, pans, coffee
   maker, blender, microwave, fridge, etc.)
• A large, flower-filled garden patio with table, chairs, and hammock
• Desk and chair, ceiling fan, and heater in each room
• Rooms are cleaned, with fresh sheets and towels, once every 7 days. (More often
   by special arrangement.) Common areas are cleaned daily.
• Very low rates: US $25 a day for one person, and US $35 for two, plus tax,
   during normal season--monthly rates are even lower
• Credit cards accepted through an online payment service

Casita de las Flores is based on the concept of the European pensione-more private than a hostel and more personal and less expensive than a hotel. The kitchen and the bathrooms are shared, and it's not right in the center of town (which actually makes it quieter than more centrally located accommodations), but the Casita is pretty, clean, homey, and a very good deal. (And cabs are inexpensive, if you don't feel like walking.)

We cater especially to travelers, adventurers, and artists of all ages who are interested in visiting the real San Miguel de Allende, not a fancy gringo version of it. If this is you, the Casita is the perfect place to stay while pursuing your interests--be they Spanish, art, photography, or jewelry classes, or just a relaxing vacation in one of Mexico's most beautiful and artistic towns.

Our mission at the Casita is to offer self-sufficient travelers a charming, relaxing, clean, safe, comfortable, and affordable home-away-from-home during their time in our lovely town. We pride ourselves on our private, quiet, and low-key atmosphere.

The main reason our rates are about half of what local B&B rates are is that we wanted to create a place where we could afford to stay ourselves--so that San Miguel is not limited to wealthy visitors-so that artists, teachers, and wanderers of all kinds can afford to spend time here.
