Rancho Rincon del Cielo (Corner of Heaven) provides our guests with opportunities for surfing, whale and bird watching, hiking or just relaxing and basking in the warmth of our Baja Sur lifestyle. Part of an 18 acre parcel of beach front property located on the popular surfing beach of La Pastora, it is bordered and surrounded by virtually hundreds of acres of open space, a sprinkling of homes and ranchos, cardon cactus forests and arroyo (stream bed) habitat as well as miles of beautiful beach. During the winter months Grey whales frolic just offshore and Humpbacks can be seen farther out. Rincon del Cielo provides visitors with the opportunity to see and experience some of the wildness of Baja but is only five miles from the center of town with its restaurants, galleries and other points of interest. Enjoy the sights and sounds of town and then slip back out to the quiet of the country. Drift off to the sound of breaking waves and awake to the singing of the birds.

The casa at Rancho Rincon del Cielo lies about two hundred yards from the beach. It is built of straw bales and is finished on the inside with adobe clay and a lime plaster. The two foot thick walls provide a special character and an overall feeling of comfort. The living room and kitchen have a brick domed "boveda" style roof. Red flagstone is used for the meter high foundation, stairs, and planters. The house was designed and built using as much local and natural building material as possible, giving it a character of rustic elegance.

Rancho Rincon del Cielo is a self sufficient property with both its energy and water. The casa has its own solar powered energy system as does the main house which is far enough away to insure privacy but close enough to provide assistance at any time. The solar system can adequately handle any reasonable energy usage. Blow dryers are not allowed as they use huge amounts of power in a matter of minutes. Sorry but pets are not welcome.
