Nestled between the hills and clouds at 7,500 ft. above sea level and
only 25 miles from San Miguel
de Allende is Pozos, Guanajuato. This once opulent colonial city lived
through several gold bonanzas from
1576 through the Mexican Revolution of 1910, and was declared an
Historical National Monument by the
Mexican Government in 1982.

Pozos has been experiencing a Renaissance since 1994, after decades of
abandonment. This old mining
ghost town, steeped in history and magic, is a must for the
sophisticated traveler. Here you will find
Hotel Casa Mexicana, Café de Artistes, Galeria del Centro and Emporio
Pozos, a tourist complex housed
within a 150-year old hacienda renovated to accommodate and pamper guests.
The owner, Teresa Martinez, originally from Monterrey, Mexico, settled
in Pozos after a long professional
career as art dealer in New York City, bringing here her extensive
travel experience from Oaxaca to Kyoto,
and an extensive art collection culminating in the development of a most
unique travel concept, above all
categories, where every room is decorated with original Picasso
etchings, and your welcome surprise is a
bottle of champagne.
Here at Casa Mexicana Hotel guests are always surrounded in every room,
garden and dining room by fresh flowers,
fruit baskets, candlelight, and fireplaces. At Casa Mexicana we can
guarantee you romance. We invite you to
come and spend a most memorable night in one of our five spacious cozy
suites and at the same time enjoy your
meals in Hotel Casa Mexicana's own restaurant, Café des Artistes.
Don't forget, also, to browse our art gallery
and store.
