Birthplace of legendary international movie actress Maria Felix
In colonial Alamos, Sonora, Mexico

Built amongst the ruins of the original homestead, Casa de Maria Felix is a small intimate inn offering new and elegant accommodations in a beautifully landscaped environment.

Lynda's love of decorating is expressed throughout the property in the colors, furnishings and overall ambience she has created. The Inn is centrally located, a pleasant five minute walk from the Alameda, the Plaza de Armas and El Centro for shopping.

The Casa de Maria Felix has two self-contained casitas adjacent to a charming courtyard and one guest suite in the east wing of the main house next to a splendid cactus garden. For those needing additional recreation, a games room and outdoor sports are featured.

The outdoor "asador de carne" and "malla" (barbecue and fire pit), the spacious portal and patios, and the poolside "Palapa Bar" provide natural settings to sit and savor the quiet beauty of life in Alamos.

A collection of artifacts discovered on the property during the new construction is housed in the Museum along with photographs of the famous actress, Maria Felix.

The Casa de Maria Felix is ideal for family reunions, weddings, group retreats, seminars, workshops, small conferences or day events.

Lynda Morris de Rohan Barondes is a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lynda has lived and worked in Europe, USA, and Canada in Public Relations and Marketing. Her passions include interior design, painting and archeology which she has been able to fully employ in her creation of the Casa de Maria Felix.

Lynda visited Alamos for the first time in 1998, during one of her evening strolls she came upon the ruin. The moon was shining through the window of the ruin and behind the wall she could see the mesquites and palo verde trees. She was enchanted and walked to the back of the property. Upon turning to look at the ruins in the moonlight she saw, for the first time, the spirits, a woman and a child. The next day she purchased the property and began designing her dream.
