Casa de las Palmas Vacation Home for Daily or Weekly Rental One of few luxury rental vacation homes in Taxco, Mexico, Casa de las Palmas, boasts a beautiful villa, a studio apartment, and a totally enclosed tropical paradise. Behind unassuming iron doors and stone walls covered with bougainvillea and tropical foliage lies an oasis of luxurious gardens, a bubbling fountain, and old colonial architecture. Just two blocks from the heart of Taxco, American-owned, Casa de las Palmas is a house you will long remember and a hidden retreat after a busy day of sight seeing. Main House The main house can sleep up to 7 people comfortably. The spacious master bedroom includes 2 queen size beds, a carved stone fireplace, and a small library to its side that also contains a single bed. The large formal dining and living room has 2 Persian-style sofa/beds, as well as, a large carved fireplace, a crystal chandelier, black stone floors, and 11 ft. ceilings. All this is beautifully decorated in antiques from around the world.
Enjoy coffee on the terrace watching the sun rise over the mountains and a panoramic view of Taxco or experience a romantic candle-light dinner on the private patio surrounded by a beautiful walled garden and fountain. Our wonderful maid, Silvia, is available to serve you during the day. Coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and homemade Mexican sweet bread are served every morning. Restaurants, shopping, and various historical sites and museums are all a short stroll away. Studio Apartment
Located on the opposite end of the grounds from the main house, the studio
apartment is a charming getaway for a smaller group. Formerly an artists
studio in the early 1900's, the quarters are located on the second floor
of the entry hall surrounded by tropical gardens and Jamaican Palms. The
1st floor contains the entrance to the grounds which is flanked on either
side by maids quarters and a gardeners room.
The interior of the apartment has a gentlemen's quarters decor with 11 ft. hewn beam ceilings, brick walls with built-in bookcases, and a fireplace complete with an African shield and spears above it. The main room comfortably sleeps 4 on 1 double bed and two single daybeds. There is also a sitting area in front of the fireplace, as well as, a leather covered dining table and chairs. It also contains a small modest kitchen and a bath room with a glass brick shower. The large paned windows offer a lovely view of the private grounds back-dropped by the mountain side speckled with clay roofs and flowering trees. The third floor contains a covered patio and roof-top terrazzo with panoramic views of the city and Santa Prisca Church. Enjoy a book by the fire, or an evening stroll to a nearby restaurant. Privacy, character and a piece of history are here for your pleasure. For information on rates, to view floor plans and to see the Casa de
