Autumn has arrived and the 2010 activity season has begun.  Bargains abound at hotels in Cabo.The big fish are biting in earnest, surf's up and getting here from the US or Canada couldn't be easier. Cabo's weather is absolutely perfect - bright sunshine with daytime highs in the mid-upper 80s and nightime/early morning lows in the 60s.

Mexican Bicentennial Celebration - Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo Nov 19 - 20
The Bicentennial Symphony Orchestra will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution through song first in Cabo San Lucas at the exterior esplanade of Luxury Avenue adjacent to the Puerto Paraiso Mall, November 19th at 5PM and then again in San Jose del Cabo on Saturday, November 20th at 8PM at Plaza Mijares in the heart of downtown San Jose. Performances are free and all are welcome.

First Annual Bows n Bones Dinner - San Jose - November 20
The setting for this elegant dinner is the magnificent beach at the exclusive Rosewood Resort property, Ventanas al Paraiso on the Corridor. Ventanas has chosen to support the Los Cabos Humane Society with the proceeds from this event which includes fabulous food, cocktails and entertainment on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Los Cabos. Dog Day Afternoon - Flora's Farm in San Jose - November 21 2-6 PM
The incredible Flora's Farm, located in Las Animas, just a stone's throw from San Jose, is once again the venue for the Los Cabos Humane Society's annual Dog Day Afternoon fundraiser. The afternoon event features great live entertainment, silent and live auctions and most importantly, an incredible variety of tasty Baja-style original cuisine prepared by some of the top chefs in Cabo. This event is a perennial favorite and is always packed with Cabo's large and growing community of animal-lovers. East Cape Arts Assoc. Full Moon Rising Music Festival - Rancho Buenta Vista - November 21
Jazz, rock, funk, soul, pop and Spanish ballads will all be performed by a first-rate lineup of incredible musicians including Grammy nominated modern jazz trumpeter Steve Bernstein, The Todd Clouser Quintet, Latin American Idol 2007 Samantha Rae, Speakeasy and local favorites Skelteton Keys. Sabor a Cabo 2010 - Hilton Hotel on the Corridor - December 1 at 7PM
Experience the culinary wonders of Los Cabos at this international food fest! Sabor a Cabo 2010 will take place on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 on the beach at the Hilton Hotel on the beach starting at 7:00 p.m. In addition to the gastronomicexplosion with 40 restaurants participating, music entertainment will be performed by well-known Mexican concert artist, Aleks Syntek. Tickets are $1,300 pesos per person (or about $100 USD). Seating will be lounge or table. Sponsored by CANIRAC, the national restaurant association. Painting the Figure in Oils - Galeria Logan - Todos Santos - December 3-5
Nationally recognized painter Scott Mattlin will be conducting a three-day workshop where students will  observe numerous demonstrations; and then will be working on their own paintings with quite a bit of attention given by the instructor to each student. We will discuss the wide varieties of colors which may be used to mix flesh tones; creating interesting backgrounds for the subject with varied and unusual surface textures, and ways to incorporate thick, juicy brushstrokes in painting hair, clothing, etc. The use of contrast to create rich, powerful paintings will also be demonstrated and incorporated when painting in this informal, yet information-filled class. Students are encouraged to bring notebooks; and to ask as many questions as possible in order to take away information that they can REALLY USE in their own ongoing work!  Scott's classes are known for their relaxed and joyful atmosphere, and non-intimidating, and informal character. 5th Annual Dressed to the K-9s - Cabo San Lucas - December 10 
Put on your finest evening clothes, eat, drink, enjoy live entertainment and dance the night away at this elegant affair which will once again be held at Quinta Cangrejo, a spectacular private residence on the beach at Punta Ballena. John Legend at Capella Pedregal Resort - December 11
The tickets for this exclusive, oceanside concert are $500 a pop, and well worth every penny, as six-time Grammy Award winning artist John Legend will perform on a  with hip-hop band The Roots, with a special appearance by Joss Stone on a raft in one of Capella's pools. Special weekend concert packages available. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Capella Foundation, supporters of the Los Cabos Children's Foundation, The Gallento Educational Charity and the Los Cabos Humane Society. Hacienda Sand Castle Contest - Cabo San Lucas - December 27-29
Champion sand castle builders Archisand will show you how to build your own sand castles and if you're interested  you use your new skills and enter the Hacienda San Castle Competition which will be held on December 29th at the Hacienda Resort in Cabo San Lucas. ONGOING EVENTS

Bike, Walk, Skate, Run in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo (Sunday mornings)
The main downstreet streets of Cabo San Lucas (Lazaro Cardenas) and San Jose del Cabo (Blvd. Mijares) are closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday mornings in order to encourage residents and tourists alike to enjoy bicycling, walking (alone or with pets), skating, running or whatever non-motorized activity flips your switch, without danger of being run over. In Cabo San Lucas, one side of the newly widened main drag is closed from the City Club to the Casino Royale; in San Jose the entire street is closed from the City Hall to the El Presidente Hotel.

Cabo Kidz Museo
Cabo Kidz Museo A.C., is a non-profit organization whose objective is to design, construct and operate a bilingual, interactive museum for the children of Los Cabos. Membership is available at $250, $500 and $1000 peso levels, which entitles the bearer to the value of their membership entrance to any Museo event. Your membership is a welcome donation towards the Museo's objectives.

Free Recycling Workshop for Kids - Plaza San Lucas - Cabo San Lucas - Saturdays 1-3PM
Yo Riciclo works on behalf of the Los Cabos community to keep it clean by offering recycling services for computers, batteries, telephones, household appliances, etc. This workshop is for children ages 9 and up. Adults are welcome to view the permanent display which features items made from recycled products at the workshop. The LIGA MAC Used Bookstore and Donation Center is open for business each Tuesday and Saturday from November through May. The bookstore and donation center is located in a little white house at the top of the hill on Paseo de los Marinos in San Jose del Cabo. Thousands of English language books available for 50p, 30p and 10p. Huge Season Opener 10p Patio Sale - fiction, non-fiction, children's books and some coffee table books. All funds raised at this location support our Centro de Apoyo Liga MAC (phone answered by bilingual volunteer is 624-120-1060 or contact via email at ligamac@prodigy.net.mx) located in Zacatal, helping families in need and supporting children to stay in school. Music at Salsita's - San Jose del Cabo - Fridays 9-10 PM
Las Salerosas perform on Friday nights from 9-10 p.m. at Salsita's in San Jose del Cabo, at the end of the art walk route, behind La Dolce. They have amazing voices and talent on violin and guitar. In their honor, Friday is Ladies Night - drinks are two for one and Salsita's is AIR CONDITIONED. Salsita's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food and drinks are great. Try the house specials - you won't be disappointed. Everything is reasonably priced, including the perfect little pieces of folk art in the gift shop and displayed on the walls of this charming and colorful restaurant and bar.

Art Walk happens every Thursday evening from November through June when the galleries have extended hours.
