SHOPPING
Shopping is a bargain in Mexico, and San Felipe's shops let you replenish your wardrobe or indulge your taste for traditional arts & crafts. San Felipe is different than many places in Mexico as there is not a traditional market place. This may be due to it's prior reliance on the fishing industry and a position of isolation from other villages or cities. There aren't any nearby populations or agricultural centers to bring in their goods.
Instead you'll find most shops on Ave. Mar de Cortez. They vary from Mexican arts & crafts to beach clothing & articles. Also quite common in San Felipe are the venders who walk throughout town and on the beaches in town. Most of the venders are polite and will not hassle you. They bring the convenience of shopping for jewelry, hats, hammocks, etc. to you.
