Oaxaca Cooking Classes

Nora Valencia joyfully opens her kitchen and her heart to share her love for the regional dishes of Oaxaca and the culture of her homeland. As your host and teacher, Nora skillfully guides you through each step of the way. You will experience true Oaxacan cooking in its natural setting: "From the Market to the Dinner Table".

The classes provide a fun, social, hands-on experience, where you will be participating in the preparation of the various dishes under Nora's thoughtful guidance. Our classes are designed for both novice and accomplished cooks, and there are activities in the food preparation process for every skill level.

Customized Guided Tours

Nora is a 2012 graduate of UMAR (La Universidad del Mar) where she earned her Federal tour guide license. Her thesis topic was "Textiles of Oaxaca". Nora's guided tours are custom in nature and can be designed to be one-on-one or in groups up to 30 ranging from topics such as textiles, the historic center of Oaxaca city, local artisans, Mezcal and of course those that are gastronomical in nature. Nora has been guiding for over 15 years with her most busy time being Los Dias de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead. For groups larger than 3 a late model a/c van will be provided when going outside of the city.
